The members of the Wilson County Seventh-day Adventist company in Floresville, TX had been renting a building a few miles outside of town and were looking for something closer. They finally found what they thought was an answer to prayer, but as they and Trust Services Director, Mike Doucoumes, were looking it over, word came of another building that was for sale. They went to inspect and found out it was a famous Floresville tavern. The members, along with Mike, saw the potential that this building and location had as a future church. The building was purchased and the members began transformation of the property.
As they were remodeling the building, many people came in asking if the tavern was going to be opened again. They were told the building would open again, but as a church. Needless to say, the people were surprised and a few mentioned that they had been praying that it would become a church. The local newspaper ran a front-page article of the transformation of this well-known establishment. They titled it, "What a Conversion!"
On November 5th, 2011, the Wilson County Seventh-day Adventist Company met for the first time in their newly purchased, newly transformed building and had Mike Doucoumes as the guest speaker. The members and visitors praised God for the powerful way He brought everything and everyone together to get the building ready and they now look forward to a mighty harvest in this once-famous tavern. |
